Let me introduce you Hex Box! Hex Box is an easy way to upcycle packages' cardboard and create some nice boxes, which can be useful for storage or as a package for a gift. It's parametric, so it can be customized for your needs: just edit some params on this onshape document (https://cad.onshape.com/documents/0694f9172d28339877360861/w/aae7db112a13d80c3e6e83da/e/7b86be26080a03e3df617c5f?renderMode=0&uiState=651ad7162f4e521931ffe284) and you're good to go! You can set: length of the Hex Box side tolerance, to easily slide the cardboard (this should be not too loose nor too hard to insert) thickness of the carboard (default is 0.6mm, which is the thickness of the letter packages from Amazon) thickness of the walls in your slicer (default is 0.4mm, each side of the hexbox is made of 4 walls) thickness of the base (default is 0.7mm, which is 2 layers 0.2mm and the first one 0.3mm) height of the cap To create your Hex Box you only have to print 2 caps and cut the cardboard the right size: width: 6 x the side + some extra height: whatever you want, minimum 2 x height Then you need to score the cardboard in order to have 7 sides (6 + the extra margin, see the picture below), you fold it and mount it: done!
