HexBright FLEX Tool

HexBright FLEX Tool

thingiverse

This is a tool for removing the lens retaining ring on the business-end of a HexBright FLEX programmable flashlight, similar to the official HexBright FLEX Tool. The lip prevents the plastic from coming into direct contact with the TIR lens, thereby avoiding scratches. It also makes replacing the retaining ring easier, because it prevents the tool from sliding all the way through it. Curiously, the official tool omits this feature. The included SCAD model is entirely parametric and can be easily modified to support other flashlights that use retaining rings. Instructions Print it out, stick it on the business end of your HexBright FLEX, and twist counter-clockwise. The ring should rotate without a great deal of force. Tested with 340 micron layers, but smaller layers should work just as well.
