HICTOP Essential prints - Prusa I3 Kit

This is a collection of parts that I believe are essential for the best operation of the HICTOP Reprap Prusa I3 3D printer (kit). Hopefully someone else will get some helpful use out of these as well. Layer height at .3mm is totally fine for all of these parts, which will save you a lot of print time. 1) Spool Holder Tube: The supplied spool holder doesn't work well because the center of gravity is off. I've designed this tube to integrate with the supplied spool holder. Simply print this tube, slide it onto the threaded rod and tighten nuts around it. Put this inside your spool's hole, and then place it onto the supplied mount. It will roll MUCH MUCH easier on the spool now. This is designed to fit most 2.2lbs (1kg) spools. I print this particular part at 10% infill to save print time, and its strong enough. Feel free to increase the infill to your liking. 2) Filament runner: To go with #1. This runner slides firmly onto the TOP of your acrylic frame, so the hole is facing towards the front/back of the printer. Place your spool holder behind your print bed, feed the filament through this runner's hole, and then down into your extruder. This will allow smooth, yet contained, movement of the filament and it will feed to the printer perfectly when paired with #1 above. I print this at 20% infill. It's small and doesn't take long to print. 3) Switch holder: For some reason, the power supply does not have a main power switch. Use this bracket to fit a generic medium size rocker switch. Ideal for mounting on the right side frame, where it sits in-between the power supply and the frame. A dab of super glue to the acrylic frame will hold it in place and still allow you to remove the power supply if ever needed. Then wire the switch in line with your AC input, and now you have a handy way to turn the unit off and on. I print this part at 20% infill, its really strong. 4) Cable Holder: This mounts to the top part of the frame and uses the included frame bolts to hold it to the frame. Use this clamp to hold your wires that go to your X movement. It will keep them nice and secure while allowing smooth, unrestricted movement to every part of the bed, without snagging or dragging on anything. I print at 20% infill.
