HICTOP Prusa I3 Y-Axis Rod Support

On the HICTOP Prusa I3 printer, the Y-Axis rods are supported by a couple of acrylic blocks. The tolerances on the blocks are very poor, causing then to stress the rod (and the bearings) or to shatter (as mine did).

You can easily replace these blocks with ones that you print yourself (on your friend's printer, I guess). I found that the PLA blocks are a little bit more flexible, allowing them to hold the rod firmly in place without stressing anything.

I printed mine in PLA with 50% infill and they work just fine.

Print instructions

I designed this part in SketchUp
