High Voltage Insulators

High Voltage Insulators

I haven't been able to find any printable insulators like these so I figured out a way to create them on Onshape. I've shown the basic layout to make custom sizes, you only need to make a small section and then use the mirror function to make them taller. I included the STL's for the two I made just as examples but they can't be printed upright because of the steep overhangs, I have not tried printing sideways though, there is still experimentation to do. Also if you actually wanted to use these for high voltage then its best to make it hollow so the ridges will on the inside as well because printed parts are porous so they could potentially provide a shorter path to ground through the middle of the part.
