Highly Modular Wheel (One Module To Rule The Wheels)

thingiverse

This is a re-mix of the Highly_Configurable_Wheel by Alex Franke (CodeCreations). (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:21486) . It's a simple change to CodeCreations original tool, which gives it a great deal more flexibility and ease of use for creating wheels of different shapes, and sizes within your projects. You no longer need to edit the "User-configurable values" (and potentially maintain multiple copies of this tool in separate projects), because you can now simply override the default values of these variables by calling the wheel() module with appropriate parameters from your project. Please refer to Alex's original thing (link above), or refer to the well-commented code within the module, for detailed instructions on the meaning and purpose of each parameter. This, I have not changed in any way. Instructions Install this module in a folder referenced by your OPENSCADPATH, and then reference it at the beginning of any project in which you require wheels, like so:use ; Then simply call the "wheel" module from your project overriding the parameters of your choice to generate as many wheels as you need of similar, or of widely varied design. (see: example_usage.scad) You should only directly edit parameter(s) within this module if you which to change the default value across all using projects. NOTE: This action will not affect existing projects which have already over-ridden the parameter, however it will have side-effects in projects which have NOT over-ridden it, and are simply accepting the default value(s) specified here. I also recommend that if/when you are happy with the defaults specified in this library, that you make this file read-only on disk to avoid accidental modifications. PS. No beers required. ;-)
