(Fr) Voici un très beau spécimen d’un groupe très particulier de mollusques bivalve mésozoïques, les hippuritidés (rudistes). Ce spécimen est un représentant du genre Hippurites, et provient du Crétacé supérieur de France. L’une des valves est modifiée pour former un tube épais poussant continuellement. Ce spécimen montre les trois replis internes typiques des rudistes. Look how one of the valves is modified into a thick tube that is constantly growing. This specimens shows the typical three involdings that often diagnose rudists.
