A model of a hobby DC motor - "130 Size" 6V motor with 29mm long body. The sort you get from most hobby and electronics shops. Not a functional model obviously. The internal structure is not modeled, it's a solid. STL render provided for convenience. The main use of this model is to subtract it from other models when you want to make things that fit the motor. Also to render it into your designs to fit-check things. Unclear how printable it really is, that's not the point. It's a valid manifold though. The openscad file supports rendering the axle as a separate solid with a thin axle sheath subtracted. The STL file attached has the axle as a solid instead. Known imperfections in model: * All based on measurements. I may refine it later once I fit check it the real one I measured. * Front notches are modeled as rectangular. The real ones are a punched-in shallow cylinder on an angle but I just couldn't be bothered. * Some of the code is ugly. The rest is very ugly. * OpenSCAD module isn't properly parametric, it just has a pile of measurement variables. Usage from other openscad code: ``` use <hobby_dc_motor.scad> hobby_dc_motor(); ``` or ``` import(file="hobby_dc_motor.stl") ``` Source is [hosted on GitHub](https://github.com/ringerc/openscad-hobby-dc-motor)
