Hoist Gantry Crane

Created using SolidWorks 2013 -- The Challenge of this design was I could only use left-over scrap metal found in the storage yard. (Therefore the only new items purchased are: Bolts, Nuts, Washers, Welding Supplies, Paint, and Wheels) -- We are going to fabricate this Movable Gantry Crane Hoist sometime in the next few months... and when it is done I will upload a photo of the finished project -- As you can see in the renderings, the wheels move 360 degrees and it also has threaded leveling stability foot pads. In addition, the upper stability supports are located over the I-beam; thus, the Chain Hoist Trolley can slide in closer to each side stanchion. -- I also uploaded a SolidWorks Assembly ZIP file with the raw starting yard metal if you would like to try and design a Hoist Gantry Crane using the same left-over metal. (I used a Trolley Wheel model downloaded from GrabCAD since, at this time, I don't know what wheels we will purchase - Thank You GrabCAD user Norhisam ) ... I was asked to upload an IGIS version of the Chain Hoist, therefore I uploaded it but it is not a working CAD model, instead it is only a visual representation for renderings... I think there is even some chain missing... but I uploaded the files anyway via the request :-) UPDATE 2015 ~ Ended up building this Hoist Version - See: Gantry Crane Hoist ... because we needed the hoist to be able to raise and lower in height ... but still used a lot of scrap metal found in yard to build it
