The project solves the most common conflict between requirements for operation with multiple camera lenses: - Safe and convenient fixing of removed cap of each lens on the camera strap; - Safe connection to the camera, preventing the caps’ loss; - Fast and simple connection and removal when swapping lenses. - All the actions performed quickly and “blindly”, not interfering with the process of photography. The holder made for my two lenses, mid-long Nikkor 18-105 mm with a filter thread 67 mm and a wide-angle Sigma 10-20 mm with a filter thread 82 mm. The slider is fixed in its saddle by a dovetail joint and secured by magnet pairs. One side of the dovetail has a half-length, allowing blind insertion of the slider “from up-down” and following its sliding. The best performance was achieved with opposite orientation of two pairs of magnets on the holder saddle (with respect to the position of the magnets on the slider). Standard replacement caps with anti-loss strings were used. On the caps a plate with pair of slider saddles was mounted to prevent hitches of the slide on the string’s end in the camera bag. Two saddles allow during swapping of lenses to find any of them blindly, saving the time. One magnet pair is sufficient there. The kit includes 5 printed parts: holder, 2 plates for caps 67 and 82 mm and 2 sliders for each cap. In addition need next ready parts: - Caps 67 and 82 mm with secure strings; - 4 rounded magnets 4x1 mm - 6 rounded magnets 6x1.2 mm - 8 plastic screws 2.5x9 mm
