Hollow Pipe Fittings

Hollow Pipe Fittings

This is a collection of hollow pipe fittings that I made for an ON30 model railroad project. The pieces were all drawn in Cubify Invent, a great $49 piece of software. Russ Instructions For the pipe I actually used thin brass welding rod. These can be resized for most model projects. They were all printed on a Rep2 with natural PLA at factory settings. I did use rafts and NO supports at the smaller sizes. For a test pass I copied one of the STL pieces into Makerware and set it to a size I thought might work. Then I copied it a couple of times, each time increasing it's size by 105%. I made about 4 or 5 copies of that piece and then I did a test print. I then selected the size that fit my 'pipe' snugly and from that point on that was my size (for that piece). There was some slight cleanup required under the overhangs but actually very little. The STL files were all drawn at different sizes to make it easier on me to draw them so use Makerware to do your final sizing. The pieces were all drawn in Cubify Invent, a great $49 piece of software.
