I have an updated and much improved stereoscope! Check it out! As noted above, this one is obsolete and you probably don't want to print it. Print the new one instead! A 3D printable Holmes-style stereo viewer. Print out this model, snap together the pieces, screw in a few 37mm +4 Close-Up/Macro lenses, and enjoy your collection of vintage stereo view cards! I made this because all of the Holmes-type viewers I own have a hood around the lens area that my glasses won't fit in. Areas for improvement: -The pole supports are a bit loose and floppy, and they tend to twist. -Keystone Stereoview cards all tend to be heavily warped. Because of this, they don't really fit on the card holder that well. -There's no handle or stand. Instructions As noted above, this one is obsolete and you probably don't want to print it. Print the new one instead! NOTE: To complete the viewer, you will need a pair of 37mm +4 Macro/Close-up lenses. You should be able to find them at pretty much any photography store. Full build: To build the viewer, you will need to print the following quantities of each model: 1: EyePieceWithPoleHoles.stl 1: CrossBarBase.stl 1: CardHolderB.stl 2: Snap-DoubleF.stl 4: DoublePinPole.stl 4: Snap-F-Flange.stl 4: Snap-MFCombo-Flange.stl Once you've printed out the parts, it's time to assemble the viewer. Screw the macro lenses into the eyepiece. The eyepiece isn't threaded, but on mine, snapping them in and twisting a bit seemed to hold them in place fairly well. You may wish to apply a bit of glue if you're worried they'll fall out. Slide one of the Snap-F-Flange pieces through one of the bottom holes on the eyepiece. Snap one of the MFCombo-Flange pieces into the Snap-F-Flange. Repeat steps 1 and 2 with the other hole. Snap one of the long support poles into each of the MFCombo-Flange pieces. At the other end of the pole, attach the Double Fs. Attach the other poles to the other side of the Double Fs. Slide the card holder onto the poles. Make sure the holder is facing the eyepiece. The holder should slide freely along the Snap the remaining MFCombo pieces into the poles. Slide on the crossbar piece. Snap on the final Snap-F-Flanges to lock the crossbar in place. Now you're ready to enjoy your vintage stereocard collection! Just place a card in the holder and slide it back and forth to focus. Shortcut: If you don't want the full viewer, you can simply print out the eyepiece, screw in the macro lenses, and have a handheld stereoviewer that can act as a Lorgnette which will let you view almost any parallel view stereopair, including images you can find online.
