This is a collection of printable parts for setting up a holography lab. It will get updated as I have time.
The magnetic base was inspired by jpearce's open-source magnetic base, which can be found on this site. It requires three 1/4" magnet cubes, one M3x12 bolt and a M3 hex nut. Alternately, the base can be compiled without slots for magnets. It uses 1/2" round bar, as do all of the clamps. I recommend printing it with a brim. The two-part right-angle clamp requires four M3x20 bolts and four M3 hex nuts. It can be mirrored for a left-handed version. The first part of the clamp is designed to mate with many of the other parts, including the lens holders, laser diode mount, and shutter. Some parts are designed to mount along the rod rather than perpendicular to it, like the fixed mirror mounts. The clamp connector is the base for these parts. There is a cylindrical platform mount for a helium-neon laser, which sits directly above the magnetic base and connects to a 1/2" rod. For secure mounting, use two. Each one requires two M3x12 bolts, four M3x10 bolts, and six M3 hex nuts. For mounting the laser as low on the table as possible, cut the rod to a length of 2 1/2". It's probably a good idea to use PETG for at least the tube clamp piece, since the laser tube can get very hot. The shutter requires one M3x8 bolt, one M3x12 bolt, two M3 hex nuts, a 1/4" x 1/2" x 3/16" (R188) bearing, a 1/4" cube magnet, and some 28 or 30 AWG magnet wire. There is a bobbin (which should be printed with at least 60% infill) provided for winding the coil. Here's a hologram I shot using these printed parts.
