Holster for XLR mic cable

Holster for XLR mic cable

I often put a stereo pair of mics on a tall mic stand extension. The stereo cable needs to be isolated from the mics on their shock mounts. This holster holds the XLR connector pair between the main stereo cable and the Y-adaptor with its super-flexible leads going to the individual mics. It holds quite nicely under the weight of the main cable. The photos show a slightly earlier version. I have now added a text label with the diameter of the mic stand pole as an aide-memoire on the rear clamping plate. I have uploaded stl versions for 13, 14 and 15mm nominal pole diameters. It needs 4 cap head M4 bolts (about 32mm) and nuts. I printed it with black PETG but any available material would do as it's under no stress. NOTE: You may observe that this is a very expensive replacement for 3 inches of gaffer tape, but I get fed up with the wretched stuff! I simply throw this out as an idea - I'm sure you would need to resize this for your own situation.
