https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DHJ_fCvW71YThe link to the video is an illustration of how a typical home can be built in the United States Northwestern area, based on my experience 10 years ago.I am not an architect, and I have never designed or built a home prior to this project. To research, I spent a lot of time at job sites around town, looking at homes as they were being built and going through a “reverse engineering” process to learn the trade. To get a better feel for the size, space and appearance that I wanted, I constructed a virtual home in 3D CAD. This program mimicked how I would build a physical home in real life. I was able to figure out how the home could be put together in the most efficient manner possible, using the least amount of materials. I was able to eliminate many potential future problems through this exercise. This project took roughly 10 months to finish constructing the home. Over the last ten years, I thought of all of the good and the bad experiences I went through. Instead of letting this experience stay hidden in my computer, I wanted to develop a video for future home builders to consider and learn from. I hope the video is interesting and useful.
