I made a copy of the original drive gears in my push mower after the original ones stopped working. I've made them with PLA and they seem sturdy enough. Couldn't believe, a) how crude the design is, b) how this bit seems doomed to wear out so quickly, c) how impossible it is to get replacements. There must be hundreds of these in sheds all over the country in need of these little gears. I have brought my mower through four house moves since it stopped working in the hopes that one day I might be able to fix it!
