Homo sapiens Location: Mugharet es-Skhul, Wadi el-Mughara, Israel. Age: 120,000 - 80,000 years B.P. Material: plaster cast. Dimensions: length, 112 mm; width, 134 mm; height, 73 mm. Notes: RLA catalog no. 1979rp31 (cast). Fossil called Skhul 5, discovered in 1932 by T.D. McCown and H. Movius, Jr., and restored by C.E. Snow. Nearly complete mandible. Cast made by the University Museum of the University of Pennsylvania. From the teaching collection of the Research Laboratories of Archaeology, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
