Bought a very small hookah recently, but the bubbles were clogging the hose with water. Commercial diffuser would not fit inside and even if it would, there water level is not high enough to use it. This aerator is designed to make the bubbles smaller so the water won't splash inside the jar while keeping very small size and low water level. As with other diffusers there is a distinct change of sound while smoking, hookah is quieter and smaller bubbles should give better filtration of the smoke too. It should fit on pipes with outer diameter 11-12mm. Inside the flange is also a groove for o-ring, but in my case (11.5mm) the aerator stays on the pipe even without it. Instructions Printing of this thing is a bit tricky. Prepare a lot of patience and have your printer well calibrated. The whole aerator is less than 30mm big to fit even into a narrow bottleneck and more than seventy holes have only 2.5mm dia. Few of them will get clogged during the print (you can be sure) so prepare your self a small drill (2-2.5mm) to open them again. If you keep them clogged smoking the hookah may get harder and unpleasant. Although it have a sort of semicircular shape it have to be printed without the supports, because otherwise it would be very complicated to get the support out from the inside. But the print can be finished succesfully even without them (you will have to live with few imperfections though :D ). The particular diffuser on the photographs was made of ABS with 0.5mm nozzle, 0.25mm thick layers so the openings were drilled and whole thing sanded afterwards. I think that 0.35mm nozzle, 0.15mm layer would give better results but stil there will be a lot of overflow. You can put inside the flange a rubber o-ring with inside dia aprox. 10-11mm. The installation of the aerator will get more complicated but it will keep its position on the pipe and you won't have to use glue.
