Hopping Kangaroo model made from drawing by Wombatmorrison on 6/2011 Traced in Illustrator, Extruded in Blender. Designed for M3 screws to secure legs. Screw holes in legs should be loose and the ones in the body should be tight. FILES: roo.stl -> All Parts, one each. roo-body.stl -> Just the body. roo-legs1.stl -> Normal legs, includes 2 legs. roo-legs2.stl -> Legs modified for shorter hops, includes two legs. roo-noholes.stl -> All three parts, no screw holes. So you can scale then punch your own holes for screws or play with hole placement. Version with holes has 3.2mm holes in legs and 2mm holes in body. EDIT 09/28/2019: USE "ROO2" parts. I did not realize how important the leg pin was. ROO2 is updated to use a leg pin to connect the left and right legs to lock them together. The pin is D shaped for easy printing, and should be printed laying flat with the flat of the D facing the bed. You can also use 3mm threaded rod or any ~3mm rod. The holes are D shaped so you may need to chase them with a drill, but tighter is better. There should be NO independent movement from left to right legs, only the legs (as a whole) moving compared to tthe body. Original "roo" files can be used but will need these drilled for now. I may update them soon. ROO2 is also bigger (body is 164mm wide) so if your printer is smaller than that you will need to scale down. Body is 6.5mm thick and legs are 4mm thick, where "Roo" original files all pieces were 6mm thick. UPDATED FILES: roo2-body.stl -> Just the body. roo2-legs1.stl -> Normal legs, includes 2 legs. roo2-legs2.stl -> Legs modified for shorter hops, includes two legs. roo2-legs1_countersink.stl -> Normal legs, includes 2 legs.Countersunk for screws. roo2-legs2_countersink.stl -> Legs modified for shorter hops, includes two legs.Countersunk for screws. 09-27-2019: I have not printed this yet, but see no reason it wouldn't print easily on any printer. I will update after print.
