The Kreuttal is a valley inhabited since the Neolithic period, bridging the "Bay of Korneuburg" and the "Viennese Basin". Its high density of multi-period sites discovered so far, combined with its unique geographical position between two major landscapes featuring distinct soils, microclimates, and natural resources, presents an ideal setting for a comprehensive case study focused on complete coverage through an integrated prospection approach. Within this area, numerous Neolithic sites have been identified. One such site is the circular enclosure (Kreisgrabeanlage or KGA in German) at Hornsburg I, consisting of a triple-ditch system and a palisade with two East-West oriented entrances.
