Hot Bed Stand-Off Cylinders (M3)

Hot Bed Stand-Off Cylinders (M3)

thingiverse

This file includes four (4) 30mm hotbed stand-off cylinders. Q: What are these? A: These cylinders are used to mount your hotbed in a fixed way. The intent is that you print them out, then, depending on the calibration of your printer, you gently sand them down to be the exact same length to +/-0.01mm. You then slide these over the M3 screws that hold your hotbed to the Y-axis trolley. This will result in a much more consistent, reliable Z-axis level across the entire bed, and you can adjust the cylinders manually or in software to make up for any corner warping in your bed or trolley. Q: My M3 screws for my bed are only 25mm long, so 30mm is too long for me. What can I do? A: You can either import the .STL into CAD or Blender and take off 10mm, or you can do what I did and chop them down with a hacksaw and clean up the cut with a file. Q: Can you edit the model in some way for me? A: No. You are a human being with hands, eyes, and a brain. You do it.
