Hot-Dog Spiral Slicer

I made this hot-dog spiral cutter to slice a hot dog's skin so that more of the hot-dog is exposed to the grill. This increases the amount of caramelization on the hot-dog resulting in a better tasting hot-dog. It also makes the dog longer which is nice since often times you're left with a bunch of bread and condiments at the end. The third reason this is if you baste hot-dogs with some sort of BBQ sauce or hot sauce this increases the amount you can baste. Works best with a very sharp knife. Using this with a sharp knife lets you cut the spiral deeper and therefore a more consistent cook. Just affix the knife in the slot and twist the hot-dog weenie through. I've used it with and without the rubber bands holding it in place, and in my opinion unless you are doing a large batch it's fine to skip the rubber bands.
