HotShot Front Gearbox

HotShot Front Gearbox

thingiverse

A replica of the Hotshot front gearbox. It's almost exactly like the original, but it does feature my QB logo and there a couple of details that are different. The two halves are meant to be mated to each other, not to the original, since I did not design a lip on one part and a recess on the other. They just go flat onto each other. This was done for easier printing. It should be printed with careful support settings. For example I used - in Cura - a support interface for a nice finish of all the inner surfaces. An x/y distance of 0.5 to make sure the bearing inserts are not curly and ugly. Support density of 12.5%. First layer height 0.3mm. Make sure all the support is removed, especially on the inside to ensure a proper fit and alignment of the different gears and axles. As always I print on a glass bed and use 3DLAC for adhesion. 3DLAC allows you to print anything on a glass bed. Every weird slicer concoction for support or whatever sticks where it is put.
