A simple housing for Smoothieboards, versions x3, x4 and x5. With a hole for a 50mm fan to cool the stepper drivers. Use supports, but otherwise it is not a hard print. Use any plastic you like, I made it using PLA.

Post-Printing =============
Clean up the print, screw on a 50 mm fan (to cool the stepper drivers), put the Smoothieboard on the spikes (I did not need any additional fixings), connect everything, screw the cover on the extrusion profile of your printer, screw the housing on the cover using 4x 3mm self-tapping screws.

How I Designed This

I downloaded the Eagle files for the Smoothieboard PCB and used the Eagle to Fusion integration to create a component in the shape of PCB. To approximate the connector sizes, I added some simple extrusions, these are the grey blocks. I then designed around that.

Category: 3D Printer Parts
