HPA/CO2 valve ring

HPA/CO2 valve ring

I just recently purchased a "thread saver" or inline shutoff valve for high pressure air or CO2 tanks/regulators for paintball or similar applications.

Being a cheap Chinese version, it looked cosmetically good and did function correctly, but the fit, finish, and functionality left something to be desired, specifically the rough feel when turning the nut that opens and closes the valve.

I took it apart, and found that the cause of the grinding was a hardened steel pin rubbing against the anodized aluminum nut.

To rectify this, I designed and printed this ring to act as a low friction washer between the pin and the nut. It worked great!

Print Settings

Printer:

Cetus 3D MKII

Rafts:

Doesn't Matter

Supports:

Doesn't Matter

Resolution:

0.18mm

Infill:

100%

Filament:
solutech PLA

Notes:

Using Slic3r PE, and an 0.4mm nozzle. Resolution doesn't really matter, I had my settings at 0.18 for another print to get threads to come out correctly, and didn't change them. Print time was about 5.5 minutes.

Category: Parts
