HPI Savage X 4.6 Electric Conversion Battery Tray

I wanted to convert my nitro Savage X 4.6 to an electric so I modeled these battery trays. They mount to the side of the TVP's with 10mm standoffs. I used ummagrip as a battery pad and battery straps to hold the battery securely. I will link the batteries I used below. These trays can hold batteries of up to 159mm x 52mm x any thickness. To mount them, eyeball roughly where you want them located and find a beefy part of the TVP. Drill a hole and screw the standoffs to the outside of the TVP. I used 4 standoffs per side. Once the standoffs are attached to the TVP, drill corresponding holes in the battery tray. Run a battery strap through the slots in the tray and screw it to the standoffs. (Dont worry about the screw heads, The battery pad will hold the battery out away.) Cut the ummagrip into 6 pieces and stick to the battery tray. See pictures to how I oriented them for maximum surface area (Note: when the ummagrip is clean and free of dust, it grips the battery very firmly) List of Supplies (links to products are below): 1) The printed battery tray, left and right.
