HTC Vive and Steam VR Base Station mount with battery

It's not convenient to place tripods and connect the power supplies for the base stations of HTC Vive or Steam VR every time you want to play in VR. I realized that these base stations just accept 12V DC power, and use a regular DC power connector. I had these Li-ion batteries from a previous project, and it turns out that the connectors fit without modification. For a while we used this idea in a very improvised way (see the last photo in the set), but of course this isn't particularly safe or stable and the big blue chunk doesn't look to great in the living room either. So, just print and assemble these simple base station mounts if you want more easy and freedom regarding the placement of the base stations. The Onshape project is here: https://cad.onshape.com/documents/4985e2a45fa9a567eb67564b/w/98cf40fd51f96f018421610e/e/31f3e42d5c07c384ead78cf0?renderMode=0&uiState=63c40f1a9d7ad0672f4582ea I haven't tested how long the batteries last on a single charge, but I would say at least 8 hours in my case. According to the specifications of (max) 2.5A usage, and the capacity of 6.6 Ah, both at 12V, this would give 6.6 / 2.5 = 2.64 hours, but in my experience it's much more. Purchased parts, for two base stations: - 4 M3 screws, 20 mm (preferably black) - 4 M3 nuts (preferably black) - 2 1/4" (tripod mount) screws. I used these: https://www.kamera-express.nl/kamera-express-1-4-inch-extra-lange-schroef - two 12V 6600 mAh Li-ion batteries. There are multiple suppliers of this model battery around the world, such as: - AliBaba https://dutch.alibaba.com/product-detail/Rechargeable-12V-6600mAh-18650-Lithium-Battery-60733474518.html - https://www.ledstripkoning.nl/accessoires/adapters-12-en-24-volt/led-strip-accubatterij-12v-met-oplader/ - https://www.delongbattery.com/Factory-Price-Rechargeable-18650-Lithium-Ion-12V-6600mAh-Li-Ion-Battery-Pack-for-LED-Light-Power-Tools-Batteries-pd43561705.html
