The vehicle submitted for the SAE NIS Efficycle competition, is a vehicle that reflects the combined efforts of all Racing Monks team members. The Racing Monks team produced an human power vehicle that meets all requirements set forth by Efficycle administration. This vehicle powered by human power as well as electric power. This report provides details about the design prototype including the decisions to use AISI 4130 for frame material, mid-axle drivetrain, dual drag link system steering, overhead sliding door, full covering fairing and many more. The designing considerations of our HPEAV were dependent on, the actual task to be carried out by the vehicle (i.e. it’s on road capability), the rules to be followed during making it and the most important point- it should be a competitive product easily manufacturable, value for money and pleasing to the costumers. As with any engineering design project teams must also place a large emphasis on gaining financial support and managing that project within the budget.
