Hummingbird helix 5 / Lowrance Elite fishfnder mount extenstion

I designed this mount to bring my Hummingbird fishfinder closer to my seat in my Old Town Predator Minn Kota edition, approx 6" (15 cm). It replaces the accessory mounting panel on the MK pod (same setup as the utility Pod). The RAM mount is kinda pricey so I thought I would try this approach. Its a work in progress. I use a steel spring to spread the arm halfs apart at the lower end for adjusting the angle. I use a 1/4" bolt and nut on each end joint so it can't come off the mount while it's being adjusted. The spring forces the joint to open and keep the upper closed when adjusting. I have included two versions of one side. one with nut recesses and another with out recesses. You use a lock nut ( nut with nylon lock ring) you can leave it loose enough to adjust with out losing it on the version without recesses. Use a regular nut in the recesses. The recesses are designed for 1/4" hardware. if you use the version with nut recesses, print 2 extra knobs.
