Located at the east end of Greenland Dock, Rotherhithe, London. From the nearby plaque: “HYDRAULIC CAPSTAN. LArge ships were helped in and out of the Greenland Lock using hawsers hauled in by this capstan and the one across the lock. An igenious mechanism used the power of high pressure water to turn it.” 245 photos taken in November 2020 with a Sony a6000 and processed in Reality Capture.
