Hydraulic Hose Cutter (Bicycle)

Hydraulic Hose Cutter (Bicycle)

A simple cutter to get a square cut on a hydraulic brake hose on a bicycle. I didn't want to purchase Shimano's $80.00'ish tool to install hydraulic hoses on my bike so I worked this up. I don't install hydraulic hoses often, actually this was my first time, so I didn't go too crazy on on the design. The primary goal being a nice clean square cut on the hose... It served its purpose well so I figured I'd put it up here in case anyone else has a need for a down and dirty hose cutter that will make a clean square cut. (note: the parts will have to be properly oriented for printing, I'm not at my computer or I'd fix it) Items needed: X-Acto X11 Blade M3x8mm Socket Head M3 nut Everything is meant to snap together, though I used the nut to hold the outer case together, don't want it coming apart while squeezing and have a rogue x-acto blade going into my finger. I made it so the hydraulic hose is a snug fit to help keep the cut square. (the poor tape job on the handlebars is temporary, I needed something to help get the "ideal" hose length.) <iframe width="600" height="400" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/FmFKAo4UpIA" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>
