###Hypercube Reworked Z axis What is it? --------------------- In order to keep the original build height on my [horizontal X axis conversion](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3201330) I had several options. * Increase the bed height relative to the Z assembly, could cause instability. * Increase the top Z shaft mounts, could also increase stability. * Redesign the Z bearing holders. So now what? --------------------- The last option has no downsides and allowed me to redesign this part to my liking to fit LM8LUU bearings with the clearances I want. Why I was at it I also wanted to reinforce both top and bottom shaft clamps for added rigidity. While this is probably overkill since the bed has almost no lateral forces applied to it, it doesn't hurt to improve. Also, the clamps are compatible with the default HC300 ones so it's not necessary to print these. Another added benefit is that the top shaft clamp can be more easily adjusted because the screw holes aren't blocked by the Z shaft. I didn't want to do this for the bottom one since it will waste a lot of filament to print those wider just for that. What do you need? --------------------- * 4 LM8LUU bearings * 8 20mm M3 screws and nuts for all shaft clamps. * 16 20mm M3 screws and nyloc nuts for the bearings holders * 24 8mm M5 screws and T slot nuts for attaching the clamps * 8 8mm M5 screws and T slot nuts for attaching the bearing holders Something else? --------------------- I've included two tools which you can use to align the front shaft clamps to the frame, just hold the tool around the front vertical extrusion and align the clamps to touch the tool. This will align Y=0 with the minimum Y position of the nozzle. The longest tool is for the bottom clamp and the shortest is for the top clamp. Make sure to install the bottom clamp with the clamp opening facing the back or the alignment tool wont work. I've also included a 10mm fixed spacer for use with a bed probe, this gets rid of the springs and makes sure the bed is rigid. ### Changelogs: * 12-Dec-2018: Added "Top_Bearing_Block_V1" which can take a 608Z bearing to retain the leadscrew. I found it to be wobbly when I was around Z-max, 410mm in my case.It has a built in support for the bearing part which you should be able to snap out when done printing. * 4-Dec-2018: Added a Z-motor mount. * 30-Nov-2018: Updated Top_Clamp to V2. When tightening the two front screws I managed to make one side crack. I mode V2 slightly thicker around those screws by countersinking them into a reinforced diagonal support. If you don't have issues with V1, these are not necessary. Also added a larger fillet towards the clamp because there is space enough and it should make the clamp stiffer.
