i3 X-carriage for GT2 belt and more Z
thingiverse
This X-carriage is designed for a Prusa i3 printer, using SolidWorks 2013. It improves upon the original design by ensuring proper GT2 belt fitting. The extruder mount point is elevated above the belt, increasing Z travel and allowing higher extruder movement. Maintaining the original look was important to me. Extruder mount holes are 30mm apart, and it accommodates up to 3 LM8UU or LM10UU bearings. If desired, other types of bearings can be used upon request. The image from thingiverse.com (#2) showcases this design, which was inspired by the Prusa3 repository on GitHub.
