UPDATE 5 Feb 2016 Created a new version that works with thingiverse customizer that can be found @ http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1299029 I'm leaving this version up mainly for historical reference but no plans for further updates. UPDATE 24 Jan 2016 Added files for hex_chuck_cup_bottomv2.1 ... see latest video @ https://youtu.be/UJkMWpzVAmM UPDATE 24 Jan 2016 Tested out the 3rd version of this part. See video https://youtu.be/Sc2LvfF_Qzo for more info. Files for this version have been added and start with hex_ also polyScrewThread_r1.scad from http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:8796 has been added to create the threads. I also added in the openSCAD files to create these parts but they are ugly. If/When I get a working version of the adapter that I'm happy with, the plan is to create a single openSCAD file that will render all the parts and work with thingiverse customizer. Hook your Ice Auger up to a power drill. Requires 1/2" chuck will not fit 3/8" chuck. This is a work in progress, the first test part has been printed using PETG for the adapter and pink PLA for the catch cover. Test fit looked good but part failed quickly. See video @ https://youtu.be/zqSZDrxAzag Printed and tested the Poly Carbon and it failed just from the weight of the auger. Short video of this @ https://youtu.be/SOGyxu2roXs I may try to redesign this part to be stronger. Print Settings Printer Brand: Robo 3D Printer: R1 ABS + PLA Model Rafts: Yes Supports: No Resolution: low/course .3mm Infill: 100% Notes: I use a 5mm raft for the adapter but no supports. You could print supports for the over hang if you want. I put a bit of a taper in the part to make it printable without supports and it can be done. You might have a stray strand or 2 on the first layer of the over hangs put those can be trimmed and you still have a usable part. I use a 100% infill because this part needs to be strong. I will be hooking it up to a 49cc gas powered drill. Tested this part with PETG and Poly Carbon. Neither was strong enough to do the job. Post-Printing Add a small bungy cord or other piece of something to attach to the drill in case the adapter comes loose .... don't want to lose your auger to the bottom of the lake.
