Ice Cleats

Ice Cleats

I wanted a pair of Ice Cleats that would fit on my work boots. All the ones I could find were too small or difficult to put on and off. These go on easily and fit at ball of your foot. When I enter a building, I can just spin them around on top of my boots and they are out of the way. I used stainless steel 1/4-20 bolts for the studs. You can use longer or shorter one depending on use. For field work I found ones a little longer worked great. In town I used shorter on just to grip the ice. I found the Velcro straps at Walmart but elastic would work also. The pins are just a pieces of coat hanger wire. I used a tap to thread the holes for the bolts to make it easier to change out the bolts. But you could just thread the bolts in the holes. You may need to make them thicker depending on the height of your heels on your Shoes or boots. Also you can adjust size make it fit your size boots. I used 50% infill and 4 layers to make them tough and longer lasting.
