Identity Project

Identity Project

My Identity consists of many things that I love. First off is my wonderful girlfriend who let me 3d scan her just for this project. Next is music. I have always been good at creating and remembering music. I have many music symbols, but the most obvious is the music staff. I own many instruments including some guitars. I have included two guitars in my identity project: An electric guitar that I designed which I wanted to build and an acoustic guitar that I found online. I also have a piano in my project because this was the first instrument I truly made music on. I also included many things that pertain to my love for engineering as well. I have the Fusion 360 logo to signify how I normally use Fusion 360 for my engineering. I also have the Purdue Logo because I am going to Purdue next year for college. I also added many 3d printers to my project because of my love of additive manufacturing. 3d printing has become such a big part of my life that without this, the project wouldn’t be complete. I have a 3d printer that is similar to one I own. A more general 3d printer that I found, and the famous Benchy boat which is a test for 3d printers. I started 3d printing because of another item in my project which is Science Olympiad. I have been in Science Olympiad since 6th Grade and I learned 3d printing my freshman year of high school. I have many things about Boy Scouts in my project because I am an Eagle Scout and I couldn’t forget the one group that shaped my personality most. I have the Scouting Logo, a Fleur de Lis with an eagle inside, and the Eagle scout medallion. These are in my project to signify how important Boy Scouts was to me and how important of a role it plays for my family. Speaking of Family, there is a dachshund because of our dog Salchicha (hot dog in Spanish). He is an amazingly smart dog that I love. I have also included a NASA-themed item because of my love of space exploration and the ingenuity of NASA. I have the iconic NASA meatball. There are a couple of more things in my project that aren’t categorized as perfectly as the others but are just as important. I have added my dream car because I am an average car enthusiast, so the 1999 Nissan R34-GTR is included in my project because it is something that signifies my enthusiasm for cars. I have also included a Camera. More specifically the Pentax K1000 because I got the camera this year and I have loved taking photos with it. I personally believe that the quote on pages 276 to 277 best exemplifies Yata’s identity. This is the chapter titled I Still Remember. “The names of all my brothers...The subjects I learned in school… BODMAS: a useful reminder on the procedure for solving mathematical equations… The definition of democracy… Our Lord’s prayer” (Nwaubani, 276). This showcases Yata’s identity because it is what helped shape her life before she got kidnapped. This is who Yata was before Boko Haram came and took her away.
