I was looking for a better way to shield/protect the mains voltage from being exposed in order to reduce the potential for accidental electrocution & death. While this approach is not perfect it is better than nothing/electrical tape. I take no responsibility for your safety and state implicitly that working with mains voltage is incredibly dangerous and should only be performed by a licensed electrician and following relevant local installation codes that this almost certainly does not meet.
