I am trying to create a sub250gr 3-inch drone that is capable to capture nice long/mid-range HD footage. Good positioning of all antennas of the system, being video transmission, control link and GPS, is crucial to getting the confidence to send that little thing far out. I chose the iFlight iH3 (v3) as the basis for my latest attempt, because i like the dual 20x20mm layout, no prop in view and top battery. However i did struggle with positioning all the antennas in a way that gave me consistently good link quality. This is my latest attempt at a tail piece that serves multiple purposes: 1) stick an immortal-t antenna as far up and away from carbon and lipo as possible 2) same for VTX antenna 3) securely hold a GPS unit (ditch the cheap gps and go for the original SAM-M8Q-modules, found either on on the Matek SAM-M8Q or Drotek DP0401) 4) hold a 10mm capacitor 5) gently route the power cable away from the props I remixed the awesome things from M_Tops and grou69 to create a two piece tail, that is held together by a M3 screw and Locknut.
