<p><strong>Note!</strong><br>The parts of the Z and Y axis are the new ones of the MK3S+ version. I decided to use them because they are improved and updated compared to the older ones.</p><p>The parts of the X axis are those of the MK3S model.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Hi there!</p><p>I've been looking for some time already printable Prusa parts, adapted for IGUS bearings RJZM-01-08…so i made ones.</p><p>This type of bearings are self-lubricating and do not require any type of maintenance (they are better than RJ4JP-01-08 and have better tolerances). The only painful part of the project was to readjust the original parts of the Prusa and allow IGUS bearings to be housed in an optimal way.&nbsp;</p><p>The IGUS bearing have an external diameter greater than 1 mm compared to the original one, as well as the length, always 1 mm.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><br><strong>Installation process and problems encountered.</strong></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Y axis:</strong> Inserting the new IGUS, I noticed that the bed was struggling to move, because the U-clamp was touching the lower part of the printer profile. To solve this problem, I had to raise the whole Y axis by 2 mm, modifying the Y-Rod-Holder. That was and easy fix.</p><figure class="image"><img src="https://media.prusaprinters.org/media/prints/118997/rich_content/b5f3e973-b0af-4989-a8c1-32fdd0692121/img202201151812422.jpg#%7B%22uuid%22%3A%224dc3fab7-1cd4-4718-b2b6-05f1e454cd23%22%2C%22w%22%3A3840%2C%22h%22%3A2880%7D"></figure><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>X axis:</strong> This part was the most challenging, because along the way I encountered several problems, one of which was having to remove and redesign the rear cover, readjust the part that held the belt and the 3 bearings, and finally insert the bearings of the IGUS..than close everything.&nbsp;</p><figure class="image"><img src="https://media.prusaprinters.org/media/prints/118997/rich_content/1a3546dd-2407-4819-93fe-25328f349c72/img20220115180030.jpg#%7B%22uuid%22%3A%225bb0fba7-e60a-4b68-a131-638feeccc096%22%2C%22w%22%3A4624%2C%22h%22%3A3468%7D"></figure><figure class="image"><img src="https://media.prusaprinters.org/media/prints/118997/rich_content/f0938b0c-f29f-4431-85fb-21a1a9bf284e/img20220115180039.jpg#%7B%22uuid%22%3A%229af454eb-d5c6-4ff5-965c-72049a413fb9%22%2C%22w%22%3A4624%2C%22h%22%3A3468%7D"></figure><p>Since i had already readjusted both parts that enclosed the bearings (I had to increase the internal diameter by 1.5 mm, and made also more space for cable ties), I took the opportunity and added a further small modification. The rear part, the last that closes and tightens the IGUS, i made a small groove on the left side of the cover, so you don't have to remove all the wires connected to the board and pass them one by one through the hole in the cover.&nbsp;</p><figure class="image"><img src="https://media.prusaprinters.org/media/prints/118997/rich_content/950cc04b-9741-42b0-bab3-9683835ac43b/img20220115181050.jpg#%7B%22uuid%22%3A%228d652466-047b-426e-845b-789a4a33a580%22%2C%22w%22%3A2880%2C%22h%22%3A3840%7D"></figure><p>I also added an additional wall on the back cover to prevent the bearings from moving out of their housin.</p><figure class="image"><img src="https://media.prusaprinters.org/media/prints/118997/rich_content/d9d73b56-b8ba-4464-9495-a35b8a74fd7b/img20220115181113.jpg#%7B%22uuid%22%3A%22c10dc74d-f679-486e-8426-6b2695f89547%22%2C%22w%22%3A3840%2C%22h%22%3A2880%7D"></figure><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Z axis: </strong>Enlarged the hole by 1 mm to insert IGUS bearings. You will notice in the image that the two bearings are both arranged almost to be joined, leaving a small space on the top. I have foreseen the insertion of a small "sponge" or something similar, which will clean bearings from dust. &nbsp;</p><figure class="image"><img src="https://media.prusaprinters.org/media/prints/118997/rich_content/8fdffde4-2f6d-4a93-a896-7c16ce778547/img20220115181359.jpg#%7B%22uuid%22%3A%22c47fc878-433d-40d6-9938-6578cb093854%22%2C%22w%22%3A3840%2C%22h%22%3A2880%7D"></figure><p>&nbsp;</p><p><i>(you will need a 30 mm screw for the part that holds the motor: X-End-Motor for RJZM-01-08 IGUS. It will be positioned in the back to tighten the belt)</i>&nbsp;</p>
