Ikea Bestå Drawer Handle

My Ikea Bestå piece came with a “push n pull” mechanism that wasn't strong enough to push out the drawer far enough to be grabbed. I solved the problem by designing a simple handle.It uses 2mm threaded inserts from Ruthex (https://www.ruthex.de/pages/cad-daten). Using a soldering iron to push them into their sockets was very easy and that's basically all post process work needed for the handle. To simplify the drilling of the holes, I designed a custom jig that gives me the distance I want towards the top of the drawer, and also makes sure that the holes I'm marking will be a perfect fit for the handle's threaded inserts. However, you need to make sure the jig is in the center by measuring the distance to the sides.Print it in whatever material you want, I chose AddNorth PETG Pro Matte black at 0.15mm layer height for a nice finish.
