IKEA HJALPA hinge jig

IKEA HJALPA hinge jig

For a DIY closet project I decided to use IKEA's cheap (but decent) HJALPA hinges (https://www.ikea.com/nl/en/p/hjaelpa-standard-hinges-60331200/). In order to make all the in the doors and closet itself in a repeatable manner, I designed these two jigs. One jig allows to drill the holes (2) for the part that goes into the closet based on a center marking (indicated by the small arrow). The other enables one to drill the big hole in the door as well as the two small holes for the screws in the correct spot and distance. The jigs are designed such that the holes correspond exactly to the necessary drill size needed for the corresponding screw/part of the hinge. This might require some post processing/drilling when your print has finished to get the holes to the exact size. The dimensions from the side of the closet/door are such that the hinge should be in the center of its adjustment range. Print however you like. I printed it in PLA, 30% infill, but it should not really matter.
