Ikea Kvartal Curtain Track Clip for LED Strips

I wanted to put a LED Strip on my Ikea Kvartal curtain track system and found a great solution for standard 12mm selfadhesive LED strips. Since the track is only 20mm away from the ceiling, putting the LEDs on top was not an option, you would have seen spots from each LED. Therefore I came up with this easy clip-on system. It is sligthly angled toward the ceiling by about 5°. All you need is a flat strip of 15x2mm aluminium in the matching length ( I used 3x 2m for my living room wall and got it from a hardware store/home depot/DIY market), and a few of these clips (I suggest using one clip every 50-80cm). Just print them, test the fit with your aluminium strip, then push them in the top of your Kvartal track, it should snap securely in place and still be movable along the track. Then snap the aluminium strip into the holder, by placing it in the top of the clip and pushing down, gently, but firmly. For rounded corners, you should pre-bend the strip and use more clips, if necessary. Apply your 12mm LED Strip before, or if you use several seperate aluminium strips, after you installed the aluminium strip on the track. The adhesive film should isolate the LED strip and the aluminium will help with cooling the strip. However, you should check the strip for short circuits before plugging it in. The clips and LEDs are almost invisible until you stand below the curtain. As far as i know, Ikea discontinued the Kvartal curtain track, but it can be found on eBay from time to time, or maybe you already own one.
