Ikea Lack Encosure Mounting Dowel

I use Ikea Lack for a printer housing, similar to: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2864118 But unfortunately the installation of accessories is poorly possible because screws hardly hold in the thin walls of the furniture. I have tried cavity dowels, glued wooden dowels and other things. Nothing was really stable. Then I created this mounting dowel and it works amazingly well! Check out my other Ikea Lack piece: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3593427 Installing guide: 1. Drill a 10mm (0.4") hole, 40mm deep (not so important, anyway just 'air' in the furniture. 2. Press the part with some force into the hole, make sure that it is vertical and flat. 3. Drill a 3mm hole with the dowel as a guide. Alternatively, use an awl, Allen key or similar. 4. If you want, drill the small hole in the furniture to about 5mm (only the first few millimeters). 5. Secure the dowel with a 4mm chipboard screw (or equivalent) which is about 15mm long. Do not over-tighten or it will break, the screw is only for security. 6. Use 5mm chipboard screws to attach your accessory. Works fantastic on my side! Enjoy!
