<p>We recently purchased a Billy bookshelf from IKEA, and added Oxberg doors to create a wonderful board game cabinet.</p> <p>We also have a toddler.</p> <p>Hence the<em>IKEA Oxberg Latch</em></p> <p>The rubber bands we were using before worked, but were tacky. Now we have an attractive solution.</p> <p>It had not been fully toddler tested, so your mileage may vary. I'm also confident that our test subject will figure it out the first time he sees one of his older siblings open it.... We will see.</p> <h3> Print Settings</h3> <p><strong>Printer:</strong></p> <p>FLSUN QQ</p> <p><p class="detail-setting rafts"><strong>Rafts: </strong> <div><p>No</p></div><strong>Supports:</strong></p> <p>No</p> <p><p class="detail-setting resolution"><strong>Resolution: </strong> <div><p>.2mm</p></div><strong>Infill:</strong></p> <p>15%</p> <p><strong>Filament:</strong> Hatchbox PLA True White <br/> <p class="detail-setting notes"><strong>Notes: </strong> </p><div><p>Print 2x knobs with the screw hole facing up.</p> Use the OpenSCAD to customize the .scad file, spacing will vary depending on how close you have your doors mounted.</div></p> <h3> Post-Printing</h3> <p><strong>Finishing</strong></p> <p>A bit of sanding on the knobs can help with the finish.</p> <p>If you don't have PLA that color matches your doors, and decide to paint the parts, you might run into tolerance issues. The hook is fully customizable so you should be able to adjust for paint.</p> <p><strong>Assembly</strong></p> <p>The latch is thicker on one side, this is so that once assembled, it won't scratch the doors position the hook on the right so that the standoff keeps the hook away from the door.</p> <ol> <li>Unscrew existing knobs</li> <li>Put the ring on the left knob</li> <li>Screw the left knob back onto left door.</li> <li>Screw right knob onto right door.</li> </ol> </p></p> Category: Replacement Parts
