There is a story behind, during Covid my church started streaming, so the light was not good enough for the cameras. We were looking for a way to extend the lightning and to get control of the luminance, color etc. Pricewise DMX is the least expensive solution. But we did not want to change the existing EUTRAC Stromschiene / guide. Then we came to the "Ikea Skeninge Decoration Hook". An idea was born, can we use this clip and mount it in our guides, so we can clip the cable for DMX inside? DMX as you may know, is a connection between fixtures where a 3pin cable jumps from one fixture to the next to the next in a row. So mounting one cable on the guide is enough. We had a spare 3 mm microphone cable what we used then, perfectly fitting to the eye of the clip, but ... We noticed the clip in the original design to have wrong direction, it is along the cable guide, hmm, this would not work for our cable guide where we need it crosswise. So a quick remix, turn it 90 degree and yeah! Looks good. A first try with a clip placed flat on the printer bed did break immediately when inserting the cable, due to the orientation of the print. So we had to place it sidewise on the bed to have the hook with long print strays, much more stable and even more elastic. Then printed 36 of the clips across the cables, mounted them inside the EUTRAC guide and we had our DMX line. If one looks, he can see, but it is much less visible then mounting dedicated cable guides.
