Ikea makes great affordable iOT devices (Tradfri) but indoor only. I designed a shelter with the intention to use the indoor motion sensor outdoor. I added some wood glue around front plastic lens to improve sealing. v1 is what I tried. The device is not fixed but it does not seem to be an issue. v2 is supposed to be an improvement but not tested yet. Thus, v1 is recommended as of today. Attention : time will tell if this works ! In particular, direct exposition to sun can induce some false detections. And range is limited to 10m.
