iMac (21.5") Sign Holders with Signs - Ideal for School Computer Labs

This attachment for 21.5" iMac computers is a great way to easily identify computers in a computer lab. The attachment rests snuggly on top of the iMac computer and has a slit in it for holding a name badge using thick paper or card stock. Placing a glue dot on the back of the iMac before placing this holder on the top will prevent the holder from moving around. This thing was made with Tinkercad. Traditionally, teachers may use stickers or numbers on the computers. I wanted to come up with a way that was easily changeable and fit the theme of our computer lab environment. I've included the latest version of the signs I'm using in my lab as well as the template in Google Slides form for you to edit and make your own. Lesson Plan and Activity Print Out the Default Signs To get started, print out the example PDF on thick card stock (+60 lbs). Print out two copies and then cut along the dark lines. Tape the signs back-to-back and they will fit snuggly in your printed sign holder. Customize Your Signs With Student Help As an activity, give students access to the Google Slideshow. Have students research their own inspirational figure. Students can then edit one of the slides to add a photo and brief overview of their figure. Printing out the document with 4 slides per page will give you a perfect size to cut and make your own. These signs can also just be printed out and taped to the front or back of the computer if you do not have iMacs of this size.
