Improved Anti-Vibration Foot

Improved Anti-Vibration Foot

thingiverse

This is a vastly improved design of anti-vibration foot over my previous design - http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:691234. It is partially inspired by 3DMS' tennis ball damper - http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1209709. The solid foam-rubber balls provide total vibration isolation from the workbench and I have been using this for several months now with no loss of resilience, unlike my earlier foam 'noodle' feet. These will fit any printer with similar 5mm plate construction to the Wanhao or early Makerbots. The foam balls were 50p each from the dog-ball basket in PetsAtHome (in the UK). These were the softest of the solid rubber balls they had and are 60mm (2.36") diameter. I designed this foot for quick printing and mine were printed using my 'swift, rough and ready' settings at 5% fill and 0.3mm layers. I'd recommend a drop of glue to attach the cups to the printer to give more stability. Print Settings Printer: Wanhao Duplicator 4 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: Rough as you like Infill: 5% Custom Section If you look carefully at the second picture you'll see the other three accessories I've designed for this printer :- The knobbly knobs, the eSun spool support and the 5mm spacer.
