Improved Replacement for Reading Lamp Shade

There are now a wide range of affordable floor lamps available, offering multiple light options, including an upward-facing main light and a downward-pointing reading light. Regrettably, the cheap plastic shades that come with many models can't withstand the heat generated by the downward-facing light, resulting in premature deterioration. My redesigned replacement carefully emulates the original shade's shape but adds critical vent holes to permit trapped heat to escape, as evident in the attached photos. I can neither guarantee nor verify if this new design will work effectively for every user; however, I'm confident that simply replacing the original shade with an identical replica would likely be unsuccessful.
