Improved spool holder for Anycubic i3 Mega
thingiverse
A well-designed feeding system can effectively mitigate external environmental factors, allowing printed objects to complete more efficiently. Typically, a spool is used, which sometimes results in issues when the wire coil becomes too heavy, causing friction forces within the extruder to increase as it winds into the wire. At this point, bearings come into play, significantly reducing friction and enabling smoother feeding. This wire rack feeding system was created by referencing foreign website parts for improvement. I built it into two modes: one that can move with the machine and another that uses the original shelf. The spools of both types are interchangeable, allowing you to print just one set before easily combining the spools. You can also swap out existing bearings to improve smoothness, with a bearing seat file rating of 6000 being optimal. Bearings with fingertip gyroscopes can be used as well, typically rated at 608. However, they may require modification for functionality.
